Slacklands at Margaret Howell
ARCA launched Slacklands at Margaret Howell, London accompanied by an exhibition with interpretations of the surveyed buildings by artist Karl Nawrot. Blowing the canon of coffee table Rural Brutalism, Slacklands opened up readings of marginal and overlooked sites, to provide a multi layered interpretation of place, forgotten social histories and entropic decay. These spatial and material sites are manifestations of changes in industry, technology, leisure and geo-politics.
